Ultherapy PRIME vs Shurink Universe in Korea: how do price and pain compare?
Ultherapy PRIME and Shurink Universe are both focused-ultrasound lifting devices, but they are different systems with different menus: on the Gangnam list Ultherapy PRIME 300 shots is KRW 1,089,000 and Shurink Universe 300 shots is KRW 97,900. This guide does not rank them. A pooled mean pain score of 4.85 out of 10 is reported for micro-focused ultrasound, and a manufacturer white paper reports that mild redness after ULTRAFORMER MPT generally subsided within two days. A shot count means different things on each device, so compare the plan, not the number.

Are Ultherapy PRIME and Shurink Universe the same kind of treatment?
They are the same family of energy, focused ultrasound, but different systems from different makers.
Ultherapy PRIME is the control unit Merz Aesthetics launched on 23 September 2024, delivering micro-focused ultrasound while the operator views tissue layers on screen. Shurink Universe is the Korean-market name for CLASSYS ULTRAFORMER MPT, which delivers focused ultrasound to selected depths through interchangeable cartridges.

How do the shot options and amounts compare on the Seoul menu?
Both are counted in shots, but a shot is defined by each device and plan, so the numbers are not like for like.
On the Gangnam menu Ultherapy PRIME is listed at 100, 300, 600 and 900 shots, plus an Eye 100 shots line. Shurink Universe is listed at 300 shots, an Eye 100 shots line and a Booster 600 shots line.
Booster names a circular-pattern cartridge configuration, not an injectable skin booster. Ask which cartridge depths, which mode and which areas a shot count covers.

What is reported about pain and reactions?
The two sources say different things, and neither is a promise for one appointment.
For micro-focused ultrasound, a 2024 meta-analysis of 42 studies reported a pooled mean pain score of 4.85 out of 10 across studies with different settings, areas and protocols.
For Shurink Universe, manufacturer-hosted clinical material lists pain and tingling among reactions, and one ULTRAFORMER MPT white paper notes that mild erythema generally subsided within two days and that many patients resumed daily activities immediately, adding that individual recovery varies and this is not a no-downtime guarantee.

Do all three Seoul branches offer both, and are the lists identical?
Both are offered at Gangnam, Myeongdong and Hongdae in the snapshot, but the shot options differ.
- Ultherapy PRIME 600 shots is listed at KRW 2,613,600 at Gangnam and Myeongdong and KRW 2,178,000 at Hongdae.
- Hongdae also lists Ultherapy PRIME 400 shots at KRW 1,518,000; Gangnam lists no 400-shot line.
- Shurink Universe 300 shots is listed at KRW 97,900 at all three; Hongdae also lists 500 shots at KRW 165,000 and 600 shots at KRW 176,000.

What should decide the choice, and what should you ask?
The sources point to the plan and the device details, not to a winner.
- Which control unit or system, and its generation, will be used (for Shurink, Universe versus the earlier Shurink)
- Which transducer or cartridge depths, and whether Normal or MP mode applies for Shurink
- How many lines or shots per area, and which areas the count covers
- What pain management is offered, and what reactions to expect
- Whether follow-up is included and how you reach the clinic after you fly home
